If you have searched and searched only to come up empty then I am sorry to tell you that United Media Collective has no social media. Yes, you read that right. If you think that’s crazy, then trust me when I say that I have heard it all:
- You know you have to have social media to be legit right?
- Are you trying to put yourself out of business?
- What do you think your clients will think?
- How do you expect anyone to see your work?
Sure, it may be strange for a creative company not to use social media, but I hope you can understand my heart behind it…
Our parents may have been onto something when they told us “you are who you hang out with”… Over the last several years I found myself spending an increasing amount of time on social media, and the more time I spent on social media, the more my work started to look like the work of my fellow creatives. It became less original and less focused on serving those whose story I was telling. The focus became more about posting what I knew might attract more followers. It was all too easy to be disingenuous on social media and put up a front that would create a good public perception instead of being honest. Maybe you have experienced this for yourself, maybe not, but it was true for me and I continue to hear similar stories of others sharing this struggle.
So why does this matter for you?
Well, not having social media means a lot of things for our clients (we prefer friends), but most importantly it means that you can be confident that we are serving YOU, not our social media followers. Without social media we don’t have the temptation to create for the sake of gaining more followers based on trends that will soon fade. Our purpose is to create a beautiful, timeless film that you can cherish for many years to come.
Oh and by the way, if you have social media we have no problem with that and we encourage you to share our work anywhere and everywhere you like 🙂
Thank you for your encouraging support,
